In reply to Ariél Fuller. I cannot answer that question, as I did not know the man personally. Growing up, he was a showman and entertainer for us. Like any sports hero or movie star, he was still human. He only became famous for his particular ability to jump motorcycles.

This museum looks incredible.
And I do not mean to sound crude but truly curious to know; was Mr. Knievel racist? Or have allegations, love affairs, etc. against him?
I ask this because of I’m doing research on him and would like to know before I praise this person.
I know it sounds frivolous but I will be creating a piece on him and wearing it and I would hate to waste my time. I just want to know he was as good of a man as he could have good of been, esp given the era. I appreciate your time reading this and hopefully taking the time to educate me!

🙋‍♂️I’ve been a fan since I got his motorcycle and ramp as a kid. I didn’t know there was a museum in Butte. We were just there last month!

It’s the first time I’ve heard of Evel Knievel but he was a hero, so determined to take those jumps. His body sustained far too many injuries. Thanks for the insight.

I remember Evel Knievel. Can’t say I would have ever considered visiting a museum dedicated to him, but this is really interesting. It’s fascinating to learn about the person behind the celerity — often, as is the case here, there’s more to the story than one would guess. Sounds like a worthwhile museum — and I like that it is in Kansas. I would have guessed it would be in Las Vegas!
