We are travelling from UK this summer to do the Route 66 road trip and Springfield is one of our stops. We were thrilled when we discovered all the Lincoln connections as we have a lot of admiration him.

Thx for this fascinating post about Springfield, Illinois. I’ve not been there, and had no idea that there is so much devoted to Lincoln in this city. That provides a great reason to add it to my bucket list!

In reply to Carol Colborn. We agree. Springfield, Illinois is such a historic city and has plenty for all ages to enjoy. We also found that it is a Route 66 city, which is a huge draw/

We visited it in 2012 but I had no idea you could go inside! What a memorable visit we had to Springfield, too! Best presidential library. And the whole town us about Lincoln!
