Tucked into the Prairiefire complex, at 13500 Nall Ave., is a family-friendly activity center. Pinstripes is not just a venue—it’s an experience. This unique entertainment destination offers a unique blend of bowling, bocce, and dining. With its chic, modern design and inviting atmosphere, Pinstripes is the perfect escape from daily life. After a morning of exploring, at the local arboretum, we decided to check this place out.
Our First Visit
The moment we stepped inside, we were captivated by the stylish atmosphere. The decor combines rustic elements with contemporary flair, creating a space that feels both welcoming and sophisticated. Our visit occurred mid-afternoon on a weekday, so we almost had the place to ourselves. They offered indoor or patio seating, so we chose a comfortable booth inside. This allowed me to wander around grabbing photos.
Pinstripe Bites
Our main purpose for our visit was a late lunch, so we hopped on reviewing the menu. Pinstripes’ lunch menu showcases a mixture of Italian and American cuisine. Their “Craft Your Lunch” section allows guests to select from salads, sandwiches, and flatbreads. Each is only $10.00, so it made for a sweet deal. Crystal chose Mia’s Roasted Turkey, which included cranberry sauce, sliced apple, and provolone. I went for the Chicken Avocado Club Flatbread which brought a delectable fusion of flavors. Paired with a crisp hard cider, we enjoyed every bite.
Head To The Lanes
Bowling at Pinstripes is a family-friendly event. Ten state-of-the-art lanes provide an enjoyable experience tailored for everyone, even beginners like us. We loved the comfortable seating and vintage photos that adorn each lane. Even during this quiet part of the day, we found the bowling alley active. We won’t go into too many details except to say that neither of us would ever win a bowling championship.
Try Something New
If bocce is more your style, Pinstripes has you covered. The venue features multiple bocce courts that invite friendly competition. We even heard that they have more courts on their rooftop. While we didn’t participate, we enjoyed watching a trio play a game. This will be added to our “must-try” list, once we learn the rules. If you’ve played bocce, leave a comment below about how difficult it is to learn.
A Day in Overland Park
After a morning of exploring the Overland Park Arboretum, Pinstripes made a great stop for lunch. The food was good and we enjoyed the ambiance and solitude in the dining area. We counted it a bonus to have the opportunity to burn a few more calories with the assorted activities we found inside. Pinstripes exceeded our expectations and now we are looking for more reasons to visit this part of the metro. We’d love to hear your thoughts on this place.
